How To Redesign My Website

So, you’ve been thinking of how to redesign your website. That’s a great move that every website owner should occasionally do! Poor website design can cost you a lot as it can potentially hurt your website views and conversions.

To combat that, we decided to put together a list of some of the best tips we’ve learned over the years while running a website redesign agency.

Add Strong Visual Elements

The importance of strong visual elements cannot be overemphasized. Illustrations, videos, and images tend to catch people’s attention more strongly as compared to plain text.

When redesigning your website, you should use custom images in place of stock photography. Consider replacing stock photos on your homepage with one of your actual products, for example.

If you run a blog, maybe incorporate images that help illustrate your points! Just think of how you want to convey your message and include supporting visuals!

Quick Ideas

  • Add some images to break up long text
  • Incorporate a list to further flesh out ideas (like this!)
  • Include a brief video on your pages
  • Don’t be afraid to use emojis 😄
  • Highlight the main ideas
  • So forth and so on…

Use Contrasting Colors

Your website redesign will pop if you use different colors. Incorporate colors that you haven’t used anywhere else on your page to highlight the essential areas on the website that you would want the visitors to see and notice.

Using an attractive color will catch the eyes of your visitors and make them notice the main areas. Similarly, use less bold colors for general info, like links to your privacy policy.

Use Branding

Don’t shy away from showing off the personality of your brand. Think about how you usually communicate with your target audience. The tone and voice of your social media or blog posts allow you to interact with them effectively.

Use fonts, imagery, and colors that directly reflect your business’s brand identity. You should always use a consistent voice to make your audience familiar with your brand. It also helps in improving the clarity of your website.

I’m sure we’ve all seen those horrendous websites where one page is easily readable, and another page is in a format not consistent with the rest of the site. Yuck.

Build a Blog

If you haven’t built a blog yet, then you should start today. There is no trace of doubt that content marketing works in promoting your website. It is an excellent way to drive massive traffic to the site.

One major tip I can give is: your customers and visitors do not want ads – they want content. A sales pitch can always be smelled from miles away. You should strive to meet the expectations of your audience by building a blog.

Covering topics related to the interest of the website allows you to connect to people with similar interests. If you own a local coffee shop, why not type up, “The Best Way to Brew a Light Roast Coffee.” The point is to connect with others, and a blog is one of the best ways.

Final Words

You don’t have to redesign your website on your own, of course. We understand that this post only covers so much that you can do with your website on your own.
